We began to discover the attributes of perspex when designing jewellery. We experimented with it in many ways and the outcome was a vast number of prototypes. We learned to understand how this material changed under different light conditions. The result was a collection of bracelets.
The Pravda restaurant project ties onto the perspex design experience. From the onset, the impulse was to try to use the unusual optical qualities of this material in the complicated but small underground space. The black paint suppresses the irregularity of the original cellar to the extent that only illuminated points break the darkness. The custom-made tables made from perspex evoke the illusion of rays of light emanating from the perforations in their tops.
